World Bank Country Director through the Gulf of Guinea SOCO PROJECT on Tuesday, 26/03/2024 was on a Monitoring Visit to Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly
In a bid to assess progress and ensure effective implementation of development projects, the World Bank’s Country Director recently undertook a comprehensive monitoring visit to Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly. The visit aimed to evaluate the impact of ongoing initiatives and identify areas for further support and collaboration.
During the visit, the Country Director, accompanied by a team of experts, engaged with government officials, project beneficiaries, and stakeholders from various sectors. The delegation conducted site visits to project sites, held meetings with key stakeholders, and reviewed project documentation to gain insights into the status of ongoing activities.
One of the focal points of the visit was a durbar of chiefs, where the Country Director had the opportunity to interact directly with community members benefiting from World Bank-funded initiatives and cultural dances from various tribes that include – Dagombas, Mossis, Hausas, Fulanis and Zambramas. This firsthand engagement provided valuable feedback on the effectiveness of interventions and the challenges faced by local communities.
In discussions with government officials, the Country Director emphasized the importance of continued commitment to achieving development goals and ensuring accountability in project implementation. The Country Director also commended the efforts made thus far and reiterated the World Bank’s commitment to supporting sustainable development initiatives in the region.
Furthermore, the monitoring visit served as a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, enabling stakeholders to share experiences, best practices, and lessons learned. The Director encouraged collaborative efforts among stakeholders to address emerging challenges and maximize the impact of development interventions.
Looking ahead, the Country Director affirmed the World Bank’s readiness to provide technical assistance and financial support to further advance development priorities in Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly. Emphasizing the importance of data-driven decision-making, the Director underscored the need for robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track progress and ensure accountability.
