The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development promotes the welfare of vulnerable groups and supports grassroots community development across Sagnarigu Municipality.
The department’s work includes registration and support for persons with disabilities and street children, family and child welfare services, community sensitisation and group formation, support for income-generating activities, and coordination of social protection programmes such as the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) scheme.
