PHASE TWO OF PROJECT MONITORING:
The phase two of our monitoring at Datalang in the Sagnarigu Constituency where we are constructing the first ever Dam under the 1 Village 1 Dam Project.
It was soo refreshing and heartwarming to see the Chief of Datalang and his elders on site monitoring and anxiously waiting for the completion of the dam for his people to benefit. In his short remarks he said “we never believed this promise of your government will see the light of day, we will forever remain grateful to the government” …. MCE
From Sagnarigu Girls Model School to Kanvili Tunaayili Nujumul Islamic School, we commissioned a fully furnished Six-unit classroom block with a Library and other facilities. This is a project we started last year July.
Gradually, we’re dealing with the infrastructural problems militating against the Free SHS policy in the Sagnarigu Municipality.
For the first quarter of this year, three Senior High Schools in my municipality will be furnished with a total of 400 mono desks funded by DACF.
This morning we started with Kalipohin SHS with 200 pieces. Northern School of Business and Islamic Science SHS will also get their fair share of 100 pieces each.
The Government, through the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) under Ministry of Trade and Industry is establishing Business Resource Centers (BRCs) in 37 selected Assemblies across the country.
Thankfully Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly was one of the 37 selected Assemblies.
The Centers will become a One-Stop-Shop Business Development and Investment Hubs in the selected districts to support its Industrialization Agenda, including 1D1F.
We did the sod cuttung in August 2018 for the construction of the center located just adjacent the Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly office complex.
We commissioned our first ever Girls Model school at Sagnarigu-kukuo.
Out of our determination, this Model School was inaugurated last year in a single classroom temporary structure at Choggu Demonstration school, with the hope of securing land and funding for the construction of permanent structures for the school in future. Thanks to the benevolence of Nyab Sagnarinaa, who provided 4 acres of land, and Action Aid Ghana, who also responded to our appeal by providing the funding for the construction of a 3-unit classroom block and its ancillary facilities.
We still call on other NGOs in and outside the Sagnarigu Municipality to partner with us to better the lives of our people in terms of Education and Health.
Monitoring of ongoing projects:
Finally for today, inspection of construction of dams at various levels at Dungu, Gbanyamni, Gbalahi and Kpintaliga in both Tamale North and Sagnarigu Constituencies.
